Checkout & payment providers
Setting up checkout isn't the payment provider's approval.
A Shopify store needs a suitable payment provider, depending on the business entity, country, market and the provider's own requirements. We support setting up third-party providers such as Shopify Payments, Stripe or PayPal in the store and configuring checkout, and guide you on application readiness.
What determines eligibility

- Provider eligibility
- Provider requirements
Eligibility, identity and business verification and approval are the payment provider's decision.
Separate layers
The store, the payment provider and the payout account are different layers.
A customer's payment passes through the store's checkout, is processed by the payment provider and is paid out to the business's account under the provider's rules. Each layer has its own application and review; we support configuration and readiness on the store side.
